  1. The Card Inventory System/2 (CIS/2) is an OS/2 application aimed at
  2. assisting users in the protection of the valuable cards that they
  3. typically carry, use, or are otherwise financially or personally
  4. responsible.  It does this by providing:
  5.  
  6.    An easy way to record the cards of interest to the user,
  7.  
  8.    A simple procedure for noting where such cards are located, and
  9.  
  10.    An easy and systematic method that can be used in reporting their
  11.     loss should one or more cards become lost or stolen,
  12.  
  13. There are service companies to which a person may subscribe which, for
  14. a fee, will help protect that person's credit cards.  Should one or
  15. more of these cards become lost or stolen, the service company will
  16. contact the appropriate companies for the user.  The purpose of this
  17. program is to avoid the cost of such a service company, or at a
  18. minimum, supplement this service by giving a user better records about
  19. what cards they have and where these cards are located.

  21. In addition, this program allows the user to more easily keep his 
  22. credit card records current, and it can record valuable cards that
  23. cannot be handled by a card protection service company.
  24.  
  25. CIS/2 will provide essentially the same function as a service company
  26. with the exception that the user must make the telephone call to
  27. report a lost or stolen card.
